Sweat Lodge and Other Events

followed by Shared Feast, Give Aways & Farewells
(approx 6 PM)

WINTER WEATHER NOTE:
In case of ice, snow or sleet, the lodge will need to be rescheduledbecause we live on a very steep hill.
If there is inclement weather on Sunday, please call 703-771-7811 to verify the lodge is still scheduled.

What you will need to bring:
1 -2 towels
change of clothing (sweat pants and sweat shirts are a good option)
sweat clothes (bathing suit and long cotton dress, or long skirt and t-shirt for women and swim trunks and t-shirt for men
bandana (if needed)
covered dish for shared feast (see notes below)
bottle of water & bottle of fruit juice
allergy medicine if you are allergic to cats or dogs (we have 9)
prayer tie materials (see notes below)
give away for give away ceremony (see notes below)
your prayers and intentions
Requested donations: $35
$25 for the teaching
$10 for support of the lodge and land

Special Requests:-STONES- donation of stones for the lodge

FIRE WOOD - donation of firewood or financial donations towardsthe purchase of firewood (Joanie gets us a discount from one of her clients)

HELP NEEDED FOR THE PRAYER LODGE :

FIRE TENDERS - need 2 people to arrive 3 hours before the lodge and prepare the stones and fire, and tend the fire during the lodge. (Fire tenders will work with Hasie for preparation of the stones and the fire and the ceremony of the lodge) - Joanie & Altazar have volunteered to fire tend

REGISTRATION:
need 1 person to help people register before the lodge - Still need a volunteer-

KITCHEN ANGELS - angels, need 3, at least 1 that will not be going in the lodge, to prepare the set up of the feast, and 2 (or more) others to help with set up, serving and clean up after the feast - Anne Devine has volunteered - still need at least 2 more volunteers-

CLEAN UP ANGELS- to clean up the lodge and surrounding area, store the supplies and make sure the fire is completely out. - Still need volunteers-

LODGE BLANKET CLEANERS-it would be terrific if several people could bring in fresh lodge blankets and others could launder some of the currentblankets. Let's find a way to get in the groove on this. Thanks to Joanie and others who have done bunches of the blankets in the past.

PHONE CALLERS -several people are not on our email list that it would be good to contact and personally invite. Let's be the welcoming heart.

SHARED FEAST- Thank you in advance to all the feast preparers! Covered dishes, casseroles, meat, vegetables, side dishes, breads, rolls, pasta dishes, salads, juices, desserts.

HOLIDAY PROJECT:
Children & Elders of the Standing Rock Reservation Donations of toys, warm clothing, hats, scarves, gloves, craft supplies, soaps, lotions, candy, sugar free candy, tea, coffee, hot cocoa, dried fruits, Walmart Gift Cards, shipping boxes & packing tape, donations towards shipping costs-GIVE AWAY LODGE-
This is a give away lodge, please do bring a cherished gift to share, not something you've gone to the store for, but something that speaks to your heart... Let your intuition guide you as to what to wrap up and bring as your give away. Prayer tie supplies: Tobacco, cotton fabric (red, yellow, black, white), string, sage, cedar
(we will also have some extra supplies available for you to use if you don't have all of your needed prayer tie supplies)

SPECIAL NOTE: WINTER WEATHER
If there is snow, ice or sleet, the lodge will have to be postponed (not canceled) because we live on a very steep hill. (new date will be based on Hasie's availability and her intuition) In case of winter weather on Sunday, please call us at 703-771-7811 for a status update. (Leesburg can have snow when DC is having only rain)

Directions: Beltway/495 to the Dulles Greenway (rt. 267) Toll Road, all the way
WEST to Leesburg. (about 22 miles from beltway)
Take the last exit, Exit 1A for rt. 15 SOUTH towards Warrenton, go 1/2 mile and
take the exit marked for rt. 15 SOUTH towards Warrenton, (again). From the bottom of that exit, go to the second traffic light (about 2/10's of a mile) and TURN RIGHT onto Governors Drive. We are about the 15th house on the left (purple mail box). Plenty of on street parking is available.
The cats may go in and out, but please don't let the dogs out unless they are attached to their run at the back door.
Please take any needed allergy medicines before you arrive if you are allergic to cats or dogs (we have Alavert dissolvable allergy tablets on hand if you need some) We are looking forward to another warm and wonderful gathering with everyone
